Growing up, I always thought I’d end up a star NBA player hoisting the Larry O’Brien Trophy on national television. As time progressed, I learned that some dreams are meant to stay just that, while other dreams are meant to become reality.
From creating a handful of amateur movies with friends during my elementary days, watching home movies of my Dad asking what I wanted to be when I grew up (and answering a movie producer!), and discovering old writings about my dreams from my youth; the thought of making, producing, and filming movies has always captivated me.
A few years ago, I decided to take a leap and bought a nice DSLR camera. After reading hundreds of online reviews and insights into “Which camera should I buy?”, I finally pulled the trigger and bought my first Canon Rebel camera.
It was exhilarating, but mainly, it was just terrifying. I didn’t use the camera for two weeks because I was afraid that I’d break it, or even worse, that I wouldn’t know how to shoot like Spielberg. Once I learned that these were common (but silly) fears, I decided to test the camera out one evening around the neighborhood. I never looked back.
After releasing my first documentary in 2017, I’ve guided many of my decisions based on my love for videography and storytelling. In the summer of 2018, I was approached by Anthony Cole Training Group to help with their online learning videos and to fill in on some Marketing knowledge along the way.
I started as a freelancer; shooting and editing online videos, providing feedback on current content, evolving brand design, and improving upon social media tactics and analytics. After nearly a year as a freelance employee, I accepted a full-time role with ACTG! I now get to help create content and tell stories for a great organization, while helping to grow a brand and bring new ideas to the table in the video and multimedia world.
